PLANNING & ZONING

Welcome! We are working on this site to bring planning related information to the residents, business owners, and others interested in our community. Please bear with us during the development of this site. if you have questions or comments, you can email us or call us.

The City of Bryant’s Zoning Ordinance and Comprehensive Plan were created through citizen participation to shape the way Bryant grows and develops.  It is the responsibility of the Planning Division to ensure these documents stay up-to-date with growth, city policy, and state legislation.  Staff members work with citizens and developers to assist them with construction activities within the City so that they occur in accordance to the principles and regulations established by these documents and other plans adopted by City Council.

The Planning Division can offer assistance with property subdivision and platting, special use permits, rezoning, and development planning.  In addition, information about current city demographics, subdivisions, and commercial development is also available as well as assistance with mapping, zoning, and long-range plans.

PROPOSED Ballot Annexation Information

The City has been concerned for some time that the rapid growth taking place within the Bryant’s Planning Areas will overwhelm city streets, parks and emergency services. There is also a concern with the high densities being developed and the standards being applied in the planning jurisdiction. Annexation will allow the City to better manage the amount and type of growth in those unincorporated areas while insuring that appropriate infrastructure (parks, roads, and utilities) is built in coordination with new development.

The Bryant City Council envisions working with residents of its surrounding communities to establish plans and zoning that preserves neighborhoods and commercial areas and protects the environment.

In order to provide an opportunity for citizen involvement and to provide information to residents concerning placing a proposed annexation issue on the 2008 General Election Ballot a Public Hearing will be held at the Bryant City Hall Complex on Monday, June 9th beginning at 6:00 p.m.

Public input is important. If you have questions or concerns about what annexation will mean for you, please contact LaVenia Jones, Planning Coordinator, at 501-847-5559 ext. 227.
