City Clerk Brenda Cockerham is an elected official and maintains the official records and public documents of the City of Bryant. In her official capacity she provides staff support for the City Council agenda process and records the proceedings of council meetings. She codifies and publishes City ordinances. It is also the duty of the City Clerk to receive, file, and retain the Code of Ethics and Financial Disclosure Statements from appointed municipal commissioners and elected officials, including the mayor, aldermen, clerk, treasurer, city attorney, and municipal judge.

Her primary duties are to prepare agendas and minutes for City Council meetings, keep the City Code of Ordinances updated, maintain the official seal of the city to be affixed to all transcripts, orders, and certificates for the purpose of authenticating city documents, and work in cooperation with the Saline County Election Commission to prepare for City Elections. The term of office for the City Clerk is four years.
